Roles: Advanced settings for approvers

An approver is someone who can approve requests from employees who belong to a specific department. For this reason, there are specific advanced settings when the approver themselves or another approver is part of that department.

You can find these options when you open the approver roles and check Show advanced settings.

Approve other approvers

This option ensures that when there are multiple approvers for the same department AND these approvers are also part of that department, they can handle each other’s requests.

This option is enabled by default.

Approve own requests

This option allows an approver to handle their own requests when they are part of the department for which they are an approver.

This option is disabled by default.
