What is a workflow?

Updated by Chris Storms

A workflow consists of a number of related tasks concerning the same subject and the same person.

The underlying tasks therefore always have the same ‘Subject’. A workflow can also have a due date.

The person responsible (the person who must carry out the task) for an underlying task can, of course, be a different person each time.

Within a workflow, you can also change the visual order of a task

An example:

  • Workflow: Onboarding
    • Subject: John Doe
    • Due date: 15/06/2026 (e.g. the start date)
      • Task 1: Sign contract
        • Subject: John Doe
        • Responsible: Julie Maes
        • Due date: 21/05/2026
      • Task 2: Order computer
        • Subject: John Doe
        • Responsible: Mark Vergauwen
        • Due date: 28/05/2026
      • Task 3: Activate badge
        • Subject: John Doe
        • Responsible: Frank Salaets
        • Due date: 14/06/2026
