What is the difference between a Payroll employee and an external member of staff?

Payroll employees are managed in the Payroll software. HR Selfservice Absences reads the employees' data, such as the contract, work schedule and public holidays, from Payroll. The 'Forward to Payroll' function of HR Selfservice Absences sends these employees' calendar data to Payroll. 

 

External staff are not managed in the Payroll software (for example interim staff members, consultants, people receiving individual vocational training (IBO) and staff working abroad).  The data of these members of staff (contract, work schedule and so on) are managed entirely in HR Selfservice Absences. No calendar data is sent back to Payroll.
